A Letter To Naturals

Dear Naturals,

Do not enforce natural hair on others.  Don't walk around thinking that your hair is betterthan the people who has their hair permed or whatever.  Do not get the idea that who ever still wears a perm is ashamed or in denial of their natural hair texture. 

The way how we wear our hair is a personaldecision.  You can encourage people who want to go natural, to go natural.  Just don't think that your hair is suddenly better than everyone who rocks a perm. 

If someone thinks that your hair is ugly in its natural state, that's their opinion.  Don't go on a rant about how they're brainwashed to think in a certain way because you're then sounding like a hypocrite because now you're brainwashed into thinking that going natural is the best option in the world and that perms are just eewie.  Just let them think what they think.  Most of them don't have the courage anyways to have their hair naturalOR they just don't prefer it.  It's not like you've never wore a perm either in your life.

Hair is hair.  Good hair is only the conditionof the hair, not the texture.  Some girls who wear a perm has healthier hair than some girls who wear their hair naturally.  Embrace your natural hair.  Just don't enforce it on people. 

If you force your opinion; you becomeannoying, honestly.  This post is not made by a person who wears perm, I've been natural for almost 9 months so I'm just keeping it real.

I recently received an email from naturallycurly.com detailing 11 hair resolutions for the New Year. I figured I make my own list for this TIOT.

TIOT: How To Wrap Straight Hair

Yesterday was very hectic, which is why I'm posting this "try it out thursday" post on Friday. Goshhh, I was running around nonstop yesterday and didn't get home until about 3 in the morning and I knew I wasn't posting anything because I was dog tired.

Anywho, yesterday I finally got a blow out and a trim and I must say I loooooove it. I went to SuperCuts, in anticipation that they would know how to work with my curls. A woman named Deliah (i believe that's how you spell her name) assured me that I would not have any heat damage once I returned my straightened hair to the curls. After hearing that I allowed her to work her "magic" on my hair. She did an excellent job and the pricing was not that bad either. I paid 45 dollars for shampoo, conditioner, flat ironed and ends trimmed. I wasn't expecting it to be like 25 dollars because my hair was in no shape or form an easy cut so I was content with that price.

With all that being said, I decided to dedicate my TIOT (try it out Thursday) to a YouTube video devoted to wrapping your straight hair. It has been a good three months since I have had my hair straight and watching this video assured me that I was wrapping my hair the correct way.
